Hello
In November 2023, I was diagnosed with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma. My journey has been anything but easy—undergoing a double mastectomy on January 19, 2024, facing multiple complications and emergency surgeries, battling infections, and ultimately having 7 surgeries including having my ovaries removed. Through every painful and uncertain moment, Loving You Through Itwas my lifeline.
From the very beginning, Snooky and her incredible organization were there for me, offering not just emotional support but real, tangible help—whether it was providing advice, feeding my family, or simply lifting me up in prayer. There were days I didn’t even want to get out of bed, but attending support group meetings and being surrounded by women who truly understood what I was going through gave me the strength and will to carry on.
What Snooky is doing for me, and for so many others, is nothing short of extraordinary. She is the heart of this organization—an angel on earth, selflessly giving her time, love, and guidance to those of us fighting the hardest battles of our lives. I can never repay what she has done for me, but I will forever be grateful.

My Story
Having a dual diagnosis of Triple Negative and ER/PR+ breast cancer presented its own special challenges. I underwent 16 chemo infusions including 4 red devil at the end of my treatments, a lumpectomy & removal of 2 lymph nodes and then 30 radiation treatments. In addition I was getting immunotherapy in the form of shots and infusions for a full year! The treatments left me tired, sometimes nauseous and “out of sorts.” I had trouble eating & lost 27 pounds. There were so many things I was used to doing & no longer could as I was too weak. I especially missed socializing, due to fatigue.
Thankfully I was introduced to the “Loving You Through It” support group by one of my friends from church who was a long time cancer survivor! What a blessing it has been to be welcomed & embraced by a fabulous group of women who understood what I was going through. We laugh together, cry together, pray together and play together! These women, led by the amazing Snooky Rico have been just the lifeline I’ve needed during my cancer journey. I am convinced that God placed me among this group as a sign of his love for me and everyone who is or has battled cancer.
